Up For Air

I'm into my third and last week with these very active five year olds. I can take breathers (short) now, figure I would give a shout out to everyone. I am going through a need to touch base with adults. I was able to finished crocheting the afghan of the American Flag. I went with the design of the first one, 13 stars. Been only able to do just a little hand stitching. By the time they go to bed, I'm too tired to even do mindless hexies. Been able to do a little blog reading and finding it very soothing. They are up now so I need to go for now.  See you next week

It's Monday 6.12.17

I meant to write all weekend but here it is Monday. Weekends sometimes just are not long enough. Was able to get a little more done on the No Brainer quilt. I named it that because it was suppose to be a mindless, just stitch squares together and call it good but my mind couldn't just rest. It evolve to this now. Of course it is taking a little long to assemble. I found this golden beige in my stash, tone wise goes well but in a way boring. It will be a good gift quilt because of it's safe color palette. Spent some of the weekend potted up the herbs. Almost done with potting plants and cleaning up the porches. Would of gotten more done but I just had to take time out and sit and enjoy the day. I spent an evening working on the Hexagon Diamonds  The 3/4" shapes came in the mail and I was excited to get back to it. And spent last night crocheting. I'm now adding the blue. It was the only dark blue available of that line

Merry Christmas

I'm a few days early for Christmas day but here at my home Christmas has past. Tuesday the last daughter left to go home, after two full and wonderful weeks.  It has been one of the best Christmas in years. Still have Christmas Eve services to look forward to.  While the grandsons were here we we're able to go on the Polar Express Train and it was wonderful. If you have one going on in your area you should think about it. The boys loved it and we have memories that will last a lifetime beside the warm feeling in my heart.   Ben believes.. I was able to get their PJ's done in time and they fit for the most part. They have a little room to grow.  Blake was concern that others would laugh if he wore the robe. It's sad that a 4 year olds thinks that. Tried to reassure him that many of the other kids will be wearing robes too ..... and they did. Ben wasn't of that thought, he eagerly wore his. They both are adorab

What's Up

What's up on my design wall after taking down my quarter log cabin blocks ( more here about it )  Is now a panel Charlie Brown the Great Pumpkin that I had bought to make the "little dudes" a Halloween quilt.  There are 2 panels of course, just going to show one.   I have some other fabric up there to coordinate with it, but I think I need some more.  Now who don't need more fabric. I think while I'm at the Springfield Missouri Quilt  Show I'll look for some coordinating fabrics or maybe some additional Halloween prints.  Now for how to construct it?  I have a couple pattern that I could choose from or maybe design mine own.  Haven't decided yet on that.  Then I had bought last year before last Halloween, a countdown calendar for the "little dudes".  Have everything for that, bought it at the kit and so now all I need  to do is get it sewn together. Do you see a theme going on, it's all abo

They are Here

Ben @ 5lbs. 11 oz & 19" and Blake @7 lbs 6 oz. & 19 3/4" I have been so preoccupied with the fact that the little guys are here. My daughter delivered Thursday night and all went very well. I can not put into words all that I feel, I am not the one in the family who is the writer, my daughter is. So I am going to give a link to her blog because she was able to put her experience so eloquently into words plus she has more pictures. But I'll tease you with this one. The only thing I can say is I just wished I lived closer, 1200 miles is such a far way away. I would of liked to have been able to just of been able to be here when needed. I feel it would of been easier on everyone but no one knew when they would be here and now that they are I just can't get enough of them. And to know that I used up most of my time and will have to go back home and not be able to just drive up anytime and see them is hard. I envy the other Grandparents or any Grandparent
